Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's

What to expect during your child's 5 to 10-year well child exam

As your child enters this stage, you can see your provider once a year. This means at age 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 you will see your doctor for a well child visit. This transition stage between childhood and adolescence is full of development. These checkups are important to stay up-to-date on immunizations, answer your questions, and assess the overall health of your child.

Below are some of the things your doctor may do at your child's yearly checkup.
