BRENHAM, Texas– Baylor Scott & White Health welcomes John Hughson as vice president of operations for the Brenham hospital. Hughson will support a team of physicians and health care professionals while providing executive leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of the hospital and its system of properties.

Hughson comes to Baylor Scott & White from Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine, Texas, where he served as chief executive officer. During his tenure, the Alpine hospital was an award-winning facility with a Level 4 trauma center designation. Hughson was the administrator of Burleson St. Joseph Health Center in Caldwell before going to Alpine. Other administrative positions include the Kimble Hospital in Junction, Texas, and in the HCA Shared Services – San Antonio Division.

Hughson earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Sam Houston State University, and a master's degree in health administration from Texas A&M University Health Science Center. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Hughson begins his new role the week of April 11.
